NANNY BACKGROUND CHECKS
Checking a nanny’s background is the first procedure before hiring a nanny. This makes you to know the nanny better. This makes the parents peaceful and relaxed to entrust their child with a nanny without any tension.
PROCEEDINGS
The background check of a nanny/baby sitter is done by the verifications of different background details about the nanny/caregiver/baby sitter you are going to hire. Their true identity or fake identities , other names, age, date of birth, seven years address history, telephone numbers, criminal records (if there is), about their residence-location, medical history, family history, educational background, marriage status, credit report, driving records, drunken-driving convictions, alcohol or drug addicted convictions, financial background, tax liabilities, ownership(if there is) etc. These checks are applicable to ‘Au Pair’, live-in and live-out nannies/babysitters.
IDENTITY:
Find out from where this nanny/baby sitter/child care giver is. Get his/her identity card. Collect from the authorities the details about her/him. Check whether his/her identity card is valid or not. Check whether they have any other name, nick name, or fake identities.
DATE OF BIRTH:
Find out their date of birth and details from the concerned authorities like church, corporation office, or any other concerned institutions etc. Check their actual age with the given age in the bio-data. It provides you a clear picture about the correct age of the nanny/baby sitter.
ADDRESS HISTORY:
Collect their address history of at least seven years. It will be easier to find out their previous status. It will be useful to find their characters too.
TELEPHONE NUMBERS:
Find out their telephone numbers and check their usual contact numbers, their unusual call receiving, the frequency of their phone attending and conversations etc. CRIMINAL RECORDS:
Check with the local police station or concerned office near by their residence about their case records if he/she is involved in any criminal cases. See whether he/she was convicted repeatedly or not for any cases like theft or murder or any other such cases.
RESIDENCE AND LOCATION:
Check their residence, whether they stay alone or with somebody related, check about their relationship with the room mate and see whether they had any problem with each other. See whether they are from different places or not.
MEDICAL HISTORY:
Check whether they are fit or unfit physically for any service. Have they any serious illness past or present? Have they undergone any serious surgery? Are they addicted to any other incurable diseases? After all is he/she safe and sound of health?
FAMILY HISTORY:
Are they single or elder or younger or middle in the family? What is his/her relationship with other family members? Are his/her parents, brothers and sisters still alive? And search about their past occupational status too.
EDUCATIONAL BACK GROUND:
What is their educational qualification? Are they still continuing their studies? What is the nature of their studies? What all degrees they gained etc.
MARRIAGE:
Are they single, married or divorcee? Why are they unmarried/ divorced? Is their married life successful or problematic? Are they comfortable with unmarried life? What is the reason behind their divorce? Etc has to be consulted and get more reliable information.
CREDIT REPORT:
Are they liable to any credit? Have they convicted for any financial theft? Are they paying back their credit?
DRIVING RECORDS:
Is their driving license real or fake? When did they get the driving license? Have they met with any accident cases? Have they convicted for driving in a drunken situation? Is the vehicle which they use is their own?
ALCOHOL OR DRUG ADDICTION:
Are they addicted to any drugs or alcohols? When did they start it? How often do they do it? Are they fully addicted? Does it affect their duties? Have they been admitted in the hospital for drug Addiction at any time?
FINANCIAL BACKGROUND:
What is their family background? Do they owe any credit or debit? Are they wasting their money unnecessarily? Have they got any bank balance? What are their other incoming sources? Are they liable to pay any taxes? Are they paying it punctually?
OWNERSHIP:
Have they got any private property? What is the nature of the property? Is it inherited or gained recently? Are they using their property properly? And do they get any profit from their property?
